I am an intellectual property attorney with Brinks Gilson & Lione. As you should expect, the views I express on this blog are my own personally, and are not those of the firm.
While non-traditional trademarks have been around for many years, companies and individuals are protecting distinctive sounds, colors and shapes with increasing frequency. This blog is intended to highlight new and interesting trademarks, and promote discussion and awareness of non-traditional marks. Distinctive trademarks are strong trademarks, so I say the funkier the better!
My intellectual property law practice focuses on all aspects of client counseling, including procurement, licensing and opinions on patents, trademarks and copyrights. I chair the firm’s Intellectual Asset Management group, which focuses on managing and extracting value from IP assets. I also chair the frim’s and Licensing practice group and am a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) with extensive experience in sale and licensing transactions involving intellectual property. My trademark practice comprises worldwide portfolio management, clearance, prosecution, licensing and enforcement in federal district court and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Biography
